I’m blown away by the details on such a small model. I’m a big fan of 1:500 series since it means different ship models show true scale next to each other. This of course means that small ships such as the Buccaneer end up tiny. In my mind, JRDF managed to balance that challenge of size with ensuring iconic features of the Bucc can be seen. The strength of material, quality of container, and ease of clean up of the models also lined up with other kits I’ve gotten from JRDF. The models don’t break easy despite the size. The box looks great and is well designed to protect the models in shipping. As well, I’m a novice with model kits and had no issue using a small pair of strut trimmers to clear off the 3D printing supports. I did have an issue where the kit was missing some base plates but I reached out to JRDF via their help email and they’ve been extremely eager to get replacements sent out. It’s been a smooth experience where it’s been a headache with larger 3D companies in the past. All in all, I’m very happy with this kit and am excited for more from JRDF.
